  • Participation in ESO Connect is voluntary.  No forced referrals from schools are permitted.  Students previously served through school placement at the Focus Center for a timeout may be eligible for the ESO Connect program.
  • Levels of support: Because ESO or FC Canvas Courses are part of the primary education offering, Connect students can receive support to stay on track.  Support comes in a level system.
    • Level 1 – monitor and notification
    • Level 2 – personal notifications (call or text)
    • Level 3 – weekly video conference check ins @ scheduled time with groups
    • Level 4 – daily or more regular video conference check ins@ scheduled time with groups
    • Additionally – Social/Emotional classes and testing services are available.
  • ESO courses do not offer specialized instruction, so Special Education and 504 students should be served through specialized instruction at the home school.  ESO teachers can provide accommodations as outlined in IEP and 504 plans.
  • Students that are not making progress online will be referred back to their home school for support.
